How To Factory Data Reset an iPad 15/04/24

Here’s how to factory data reset your iPad.

Follow these steps or watch our helpful video below.

  1. Open the settings app.

  2. Scroll down until you find General, tap that and at the bottom of the list you’ll find transfer or reset iPad

  3. Press that and in there and you’ll have a couple of options.

  4. To completely wipe the device select erase all content and settings.

  5. You’ll be presented with the details of what’s on the device currently.

  6. Tap continue and you’ll receive a warning that this factory reset cannot be reversed.

  7. Tap the red button that says erase iPad now.

  8. You’ll then need to enter your personal passcode and Apple password and once you’ve done both, all you need to do is tap turn off at the top right of the screen.

  9. Your iPad will begin to erase the data and reset – expect to see the loading bar two or three times before it has fully reset.

  10. Once you get to the ‘hello’ screen, the process is completed and you have factory reset your iPad.
