iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13 14/09/22

With the arrival of the new iPhone 14, many Apple users wonder if they should upgrade to the new model. The iPhone 13 is a fantastic phone, but is it worth upgrading to the latest version?

The latest iPhone 14 isn’t a huge revolutionary jump in spec compared to the 13, but there are some differences beyond just prices.

In this guide, we compare the two models and help you decide which one is right for you. Stay tuned for more information!

iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Battery

Regarding battery life, there are a few key differences between the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 14. The iPhone 13 has a smaller battery than the iPhone 14, meaning it will need to be charged more often. However, both phones support fast charging so you can top them up if needed.

In terms of overall battery life, the iPhone 14 slightly edges out the iPhone 13 thanks to its larger size.

Both phones will easily last a full day with moderate use. If you’re looking for the longest possible battery life, the iPhone 14 is the winner here, but it’s marginal – we’re talking an extra hour of use when playing a video for example.

iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Display

The iPhone 13 and 14 have different screen sizes. The iPhone 13 has a 5.8-inch screen, while the iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch screen. This may not seem like a big difference, but it is noticeable when you sit the phones side by side.

The iPhone 13 feels more compact in your hand, while the iPhone 14 feels like it takes up more space.

The larger screen on the iPhone 14 is also great for watching videos and browsing the web. It’s important to note that both phones have OLED displays, so the screen quality is the same. The main difference is the size. If you’re looking for a bigger phone, the iPhone 14 is the better option. But if you want a slightly smaller phone that’s easier to carry around, the iPhone 13 is the better choice.

iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Camera

When it comes to cameras, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 are very similar.

Both phones have dual 12-megapixel rear-facing cameras and can shoot 4K video at 60fps. However, there are a few differences between the two models:

  1. The iPhone 14 has a broader field of view than the iPhone 13, meaning it can capture more of the scene in a single photo.
  2. The iPhone 14’s telephoto camera has an improved optical zoom range, allowing for sharper close-ups.
  3. The iPhone 14’s Night mode is more effective than the iPhone 13’s, allowing for better low-light photography.

Overall, the camera on the iPhone 14 is slightly better than the iPhone 13, but both phones are still excellent options for photography enthusiasts. The upgrades to the 14’s camera aren’t as much of a jump as they have been in previous years.

iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Sensors

Both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14s have a variety of sensors that allow them to perform a number of different functions.

The iPhone 13 has a motion sensor that can detect when the phone is in motion and turn on the screen. It also has a light sensor that can automatically adjust the screen brightness based on the amount of light in the environment. The iPhone 14 also has a motion sensor.

In addition, both have a proximity sensor that can detect when an object (such as your ear) is close to the phone and turn off the screen to save power.

Finally, both phones have an ambient light sensor that can automatically adjust the screen colour temperature based on the lighting conditions.

iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13: Water Resistance

The iPhone 13 and 14 are both water resistant, but the iPhone 14 is slightly more resistant. Either way, we’re not going to recommend dropping them in water – just know that the protection is there should you accidently drop it or get caught in a rain shower.

The iPhone 13 has a water resistance rating of IP67, which means it can withstand being submerged in water for 30 minutes. The iPhone 14 has a water resistance rating of IP68, which also means it can withstand being submerged in water for 30 minutes.

The difference here though is depth. The iPhone 13’s water resistance is for up to 1 metre, whilst the 14’s IP68 rating means it is water resistant to at least 1 metre, so may be deeper than that although Apple don’t say just how deep.

Both phones are still vulnerable to damage from salt water, so be sure to rinse them off with fresh water as soon as possible after exposure to salt water.

iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13 – Crash Detection

One of the most anticipated features of the new iPhone 14 is the addition of crash detection. This feature uses built-in sensors to detect when a user has been in a car accident and automatically calls emergency services.

While this may seem like a small addition, it could potentially save lives. The iPhone 13 did not have this feature, which was one of the main reasons many users were eager to upgrade.

This new feature is one of the main ways the iPhone 14 is an improvement over its predecessor.

But Have You Heard? There’s An iPhone 14 Pro

The iPhone 14 Pro and it’s bigger screen version the iPhone 14 Pro Max are the latest and greatest premium iPhones from Apple, but how does it stack up against the standard iPhone 14? Let’s take a look at some of the critical differences.

The iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch display, which is the same as the iPhone 14. The Pro Max features a larger 6.7-inch display. The Pro and Pro Max also have a slightly higher resolution than the standard iPhone 14. In addition, both come with Apple’s new A14 Bionic chip, which offers faster performance and better energy efficiency than the A13 chip in the standard iPhone 14.

The Pro and Pro Max also have an upgraded camera system, with three rear cameras instead of two. And finally, the Pro models feature increased storage capacity, with options for 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1T.

So, which one should you choose? If you’re looking for the best possible performance and camera quality, then the iPhone 14 Pro pr Pro Max is the way to go. But if you don’t need all those extras and just want a great all-rounder iPhone, then the standard iPhone 14 will be just fine.

In Conclusion

If you need a new phone immediately, want to save yourself some cash and don’t mind not having all of the very latest technicaal features, then buying an iPhone 13 would be a good option.

However, if you want as much up-to-date, best-in-class technology as possible and are willing to wait, then waiting for the release of the iPhone 14 Pro Max in October would be best. Alternatively, the iPhone 14 is already available to purchase since September – it’ll cost you more than the 13 but you’re getting a slightly improved model.

Our recommendation? If you’re deciding between the 14 and 13 then the money you’ll save buying the 13 is well worth it. If you want the very best mobile tech Apple has to offer, then the 14 Pro or Pro Max is you’re best option.
