Galaxy A18 4G gives you a genuine Samsung experience without the premium price. You get a big, colourful screen, a phone that lasts a full day and software support that runs for years. In our view, that long update promise is what lifts it above most budget rivals.
Three alternatives to consider:
Galaxy A17 5G - Last year’s sibling with 5G built in. Same size screen and battery, a smart pick if faster mobile data matters.
Galaxy A26 5G - Costs a little more. Adds 5G, a smoother 120 Hz AMOLED display and tougher IP67 water resistance.
Galaxy A37 5G - A real step up. Faster Exynos 1480 chip, 120 Hz screen, 45 W charging and IP68 protection, for those who want more power and polish.
The Galaxy A18 4G is the newest entry point to Samsung’s A series. It is made for people who want a dependable phone for calls, messages, photos and streaming, whether that is a first smartphone, an upgrade from an older handset or a sensible second phone. Simple to set up, easy to live with and backed by Samsung.
At 7.7 mm thin and 196 g, Galaxy A18 4G feels light for a big screen phone. A Gorilla Glass 3 front and IP64 rating guard against dust, knocks and splashes, while the plastic back and frame shrug off daily wear. Flat edges and rounded corners make it comfortable to hold, and Samsung’s raised Key Island puts the fingerprint reader right where your thumb rests.
A 50 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation leads a triple lens setup. Shots stay steadier and sharper, even in low light or on the move. The 5 MP ultra wide fits more into every frame, while the 2 MP macro gets up close to the details. On the front, a 13 MP selfie camera delivers clear, natural results, and HDR helps balance tricky lighting.
Front and back, Galaxy A18 4G records in Full HD 1080p at 30fps. Clips come out clean and ready to share, whether it is a quick story, a family moment or a video call. Samsung’s built in editor lets you trim, add filters and adjust clips in seconds, so there is no need for extra apps before you post.
The 6.7″ Super AMOLED panel runs at 90 Hz, so scrolling and swiping feel smooth. Colours are rich and blacks are deep, which makes films and photos look their best. Full HD+ resolution keeps text crisp for reading and browsing. It is not a 120 Hz screen, but for the price it is big, bright and vivid.
The Exynos 1610 is built on a 5 nm process with two Cortex A78 performance cores and six efficiency cores. With 4 GB RAM, it handles streaming, browsing, social apps and casual games comfortably, though it is tuned for the essentials rather than heavy gaming. It connects over 4G, and ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, with six major Android upgrades promised.
A 5,000 mAh battery comfortably gets you from morning to night, with maps, music and box sets along the way. When it is time to top up, 25 W fast charging brings it to around 50% in 30 minutes, so a quick charge before heading out is usually all you need.
Choose from three finishes: Black, Silver and Light Blue, each with a clean, understated look. It comes with 128 GB of storage and 4 GB RAM, and you can add up to 2 TB more with a microSD card in the shared SIM tray. We think that expandable storage is a real plus at this price.
