5 Great Things About the Google Pixel 5
There’s a reason, 5 in fact, why it’s one of the most popular Android phones you can buy
It’s Google’s first 5G phone
Despite some flagship phones increasing in price with the addition of 5G support, in comparison the Google Pixel 5 is a more affordable option. If you’re in a 5G area and on a 5G-ready mobile plan, you’ll benefit from the Pixel’s increased internet speed.
It’s water and dust resistant
The Google Pixel 5 is rated IP68 which means it’s water resistant in fresh water to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes and it’s protected from dust.
There’s an Ultrawide lens
Google has removed the telephoto lens from this Pixel and replaced it with a new and improved ultrawide lens which makes it great for capturing more in your shots.
It has a 90Hz display
60Hz is the standard for most phones. This measure basically determines how smooth scrolling and motion is on your phone. The Pixel 5 improves on this with 90Hz for smoother scrolling. Some brands have started to introduce 120Hz displays on their top end flagship models, and whilst that’s of course a bump up again, it’s nice to see 90Hz included here on a mid-tier phone.
It’s one of the best camera phones you can get
Google Pixel phones are famous for just how good their cameras are, and the Pixel 5 doesn’t disappoint. In fact, Android Authority call it ‘one of the best camera phones you can get, as it takes great images in just about any lighting condition’.
So there you go, the Google Pixel 5. One of the most affordable smartphones that truly is great value for money, especially now if you pick up a discounted or refurbished one.
