Mozillion rating:

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra is the one of the ultimate flagships in the 2024 lineup, built for users who want the largest screen, top-tier performance, and the most advanced camera system in the series. It boasts a massive 6.8‑inch Dynamic AMOLED display, the Snapdragon  8 Gen 3 for Galaxy (or regional equivalent), up to 12GB of RAM, and the latest One UI/Android software. As of late 2025, the S24 Ultra remains a powerhouse, its display, cameras, and software support are still highly competitive. The key question: do the size, price, and feature set justify choosing the Ultra over smaller S24 models?

  • Stunning 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED display
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
  • 200 MP main, ultra-wide, and dual telephoto lenses
  • Strong battery life
  • Premium aluminum/armor frame

Cons

  • Large 6.8″ screen can feel overwheling
  • Price premium
  • Wired charging (~45 W) strong but not class-leading

Galaxy S24 Ultra – Overview

The S24 Ultra positions itself as Samsung’s ultimate do-everything flagship. Its 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display is bright, sharp and incredibly smooth at 120Hz, making everything from browsing to gaming feel premium. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, paired with up to 12GB RAM, keeps the phone fast whether you’re editing 8K footage, juggling multiple apps or playing demanding games.

Its standout feature is the camera system: a 200MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide, and two telephoto lenses offering 3x and 10x optical zoom. This setup gives the S24 Ultra a level of versatility few phones match.

Even approaching 2026, the Ultra remains a powerhouse, polished, capable and still ahead of many newer competitors.

Galaxy S24 Ultra – Design

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is constructed with a grade‑2 titanium frame, offering superior strength compared to aluminium. It uses Corning Gorilla Armor on both the front and back to maximise durability. The dimensions are 162.3 × 79 × 8.6mm, and it weighs approximately 232–233g.

Because of its large form factor, the device feels very premium and sturdy, though one handed use can be challenging and it demands a generous amount of pocket space. Despite that, the design emphasises durability and refinement.

Galaxy S24 Ultra – Display

The 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display is one of the best on any phone. It reaches up to around 3,000 nits of peak brightness, making outdoor use easy, and the 120Hz refresh rate keeps everything smooth.

Compared with the smaller S24, the Ultra offers far more room for content, split screen multitasking and creative work. Even in late 2025, this display ranks near the top of the smartphone world.

Galaxy S24 UltraCamera & Video

The camera system is highly versatile, featuring a 20MP main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, a 12MP ultra wide lens, and two 10-MP telephoto lenses offering 3× and 10× optical zoom. In daylight, the device captures remarkably detailed images with excellent dynamic range, while low light performance is impressive thanks to Samsung’s advanced AI processing.

  • Charge Time – 50% in 30 minutes (wired), full in ~1h 30m

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra stands out in the series for its exceptional battery performance, offering the longest endurance of the three models. Its large battery and efficient power management make it ideal for heavy users, whether streaming video, gaming, or multitasking throughout the day. The standard S24 also delivers solid longevity, comfortably lasting a full day for most users, while the older S23, though still capable, falls slightly behind in both battery life and charging efficiency. All three devices support fast wired charging, allowing users to quickly top up and stay mobile, but it is the Ultra that consistently leads in both stamina and convenience, making it the flagship choice for those who prioritise battery performance.

Galaxy S24 Ultra – Problems with Older Phones / Issues to Look Out For

Users upgrading from older Samsung models may notice reduced battery health, slower charging, or occasional performance drops on ageing devices. Older Galaxy phones can also struggle with the newest AI features, as some require the latest hardware to run efficiently. Displays on previous generation models may show burn-in or reduced brightness over time, and camera performance can degrade due to worn stabilisation components. Storage limitations and reduced software support on much older devices may also affect reliability.

Galaxy S24 Ultra – Verdict

As of late 2025, the Galaxy S24 Ultra remains one of the most capable and feature packed phones you can buy. Its huge screen, exceptional cameras, top tier performance and long software support make it a standout choice for power users.

If you can handle the size and the price, the S24 Ultra offers a flagship experience that stays relevant long after release, the true definition of a top end Samsung smartphone.
