Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro arrives as the 2024 flagship for users who want premium performance, a polished design, and Apple’s most advanced camera and display technology in a manageable size. It features a 6.3‑inch ProMotion OLED display, the new A18 Pro chip, 8GB of RAM, and iOS 18. As of late 2025, the iPhone 16 Pro continues to deliver smooth performance, reliable software support, and one of the best camera experiences available. The key question: is the Pro worth the premium over the base iPhone 16 or smaller Plus models?

  • Versatile triple-camera system
  • Strong battery life and full iOS support
  • Sleek stainless steel and Ceramic Shield build

Cons

iPhone 16 Pro – Overview

The iPhone 16 Pro positions itself as Apple’s compact powerhouse. Its 6.3‑inch Super Retina XDR OLED display supports ProMotion 120Hz, HDR10, and delivers crisp detail, vibrant colors, and smooth animations. The A18 Pro chip paired with 8GB of RAM ensures apps launch instantly, multitasking is seamless, and heavy tasks like 4K video editing or high-end gaming are handled effortlessly.

The rear camera system includes a 48MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, and 12MP telephoto lens, making it a versatile imaging powerhouse. Daylight, low light, and video capture are all excellent, making this a highly capable device for photography enthusiasts who want a smaller phone. iPhone 16 Pro – Display

The 6.3‑inch OLED panel is bright, sharp, and fluid with ProMotion 120Hz. Scrolling, animations, and gaming feel buttery smooth, while HDR10 support ensures videos and photos pop with color. Peak brightness reaches around 2,000 nits, keeping visibility excellent even outdoors. Compared with the base iPhone 16, the Pro’s display is a noticeable upgrade, particularly for smooth scrolling and dynamic content.

iPhone 16 Pro – Camera & Video

The iPhone 16 Pro features a triple camera setup with a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens capable of up to 3× optical zoom. iPhone 16 Pro – Problems with Older Phones / Issues to Look Out For

Upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro can come with a few issues, especially for users moving from older models. Some early iOS 26 users report minor slowdowns, occasional UI lag, and slightly higher battery drain. A few have experienced random reboots or touchscreen glitches, though most were addressed in early updates.

On the hardware side, the new Camera Control button can be accidentally triggered, and cases may interfere with its function. Overall, these are mostly minor issues, but older iPhone users should be aware of potential adjustment and early software quirks.

iPhone 16 Pro – Verdict

The iPhone 16 Pro is ideal for users who want a high-performance, premium iPhone without the larger size of the Pro Max. It combines Apple’s A18 Pro chip, a ProMotion OLED display, a versatile triple‑camera system, and strong battery life in a compact design. For those who value performance, camera flexibility, and long term software support over maximum screen size, the iPhone 16 Pro remains a compelling choice.
