Samsung has announced the new Galaxy A37 5G and Galaxy A57 5G, expanding its A series lineup with two mid-range phones that aim to deliver great performance, strong software support, and long-lasting battery life without breaking the bank. Both devices bring Samsung’s latest One UI 8.5 software and Awesome Intelligence AI enhancements to more users, plus up to six years of Android updates and security patches, a level of long-term support once reserved for flagship phones.

While they share a common design language and core features, the Galaxy A57 clearly aims to be the more refined and capable of the two, with upgrades that matter for performance and photography, while the A37 focuses on balanced everyday use at a lower price point.

A37 and A57 What’s New This Year

Both phones feature a large 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster technology, meaning vibrant colours and great visibility even outdoors. They also share a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast wired charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and 5G connectivity, solid foundations for daily use.

Samsung’s decision to bring improved AI features, like enhanced camera processing and voice transcription, to mid-range devices is a meaningful step for users who do not want to pay flagship prices but still want smarter tools in their pocket.

Design and Feel

At a glance, the A37 and A57 look like close cousins rather than distant relatives. Both have slim profiles and rounded corners with a punch-hole selfie camera and a familiar triple-camera island on the back. They feel solid and comfortable in the hand, with metal and glass fronts and backs, and they both offer IP68 water resistance, not something every mid-range phone gets.

The A57 edges ahead with slightly slimmer bezels and a lighter, more refined feel overall, which gives it a subtly more premium presence.

Performance and Everyday

Under the hood, the Galaxy A37 runs on Samsung’s Exynos 1480 chipset, paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, enough for everyday browsing, messaging, photos, and light gaming. It covers all the basics smoothly.

The Galaxy A57 uses the newer Exynos 1680, which translates to quicker app loading, better multitasking, and smoother performance during heavier workloads like extended gaming or content editing. It can feel more responsive over time, especially if you keep a lot of apps open at once.

Cameras Same Setup, Slight Edge

Both phones share a triple-lens rear camera system, anchored by a 50MP main sensor and a 5MP macro camera, along with a 12MP front camera for selfies. The A37 pairs the main sensor with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the A57 upgrades that to a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.

Both handle landscapes, portraits, and social media snaps well. The A57’s slightly better ultra-wide and enhanced image processing give it a small edge in versatility and low-light performance, especially for group or wide scenes.
