Why buy an Apple iPad Air 2022 (5th Gen)?

M1 superfast processor
All day battery life
12MP Ultra Wide Front Camera

Introduction

Supercharged by the Apple M1 chip, the iPad Air 2022 is light, bright and full of might. Fitted with a stunning 10.9 inch Liquid Retina display, you can be totally immersed in the moment with colours that make videos, games and boxsets leap off the screen.

Design

Elegant and light, the iPad Air 2022 packs a lot of power and possibilities into a remarkable light and thin chassis. All the Air models from Apple are as effortlessly cool as you would expect and the iPad Air 2022 is no exception to this rule. The sharp, angular edges give the sense of a premium build, with a rigidity that tells you you're holding a well put-together product. The anodized aluminium, which comes in a variety of colours, feels smooth to the touch, and the flat edges allow for the Apple Pencil to snap easily to the side for storage and charging.

Display

The 10.9 inch Liquid Retina display on the iPad Air 2022 is portable and fun. It is anti-reflective which means that you never need to worry about not seeing what is on it. This is due to a backlight which makes all the difference.

Camera

The iPad Air 2022 benefits from an incredibly powerful M1 processor which, coupled with the sensor in the camera array means that pictures from the 12MP rear camera look fantastic with plenty of colour, sharpness and depth. The 12MP front-facing camera is also a vast improvement on previous models and the ultra wide sensor allows for Center Stage (more info below).

Video

The iPad Air 2022 has a very capable video camera and also benefits from Center Stage, a feature that is also available on the Pro and later versions of the iPad. This software keeps you centred on screen by moving the viewpoint around the frame which is very effective on video calls. Add in a pair of AirPods, and you’ve got a top video-conferencing suite in the palm of your hands.

Processor

The M1 chip is a welcome addition to an already powerful piece of kit and the extra punch will be appreciated by digital artists and gamers especially. It literally puts the Air shoulder to shoulder to the Pro series in terms of raw power. It can handle graphically intensive games as well as manipulate 3D models smoothly without breaking a sweat.

Battery

Depending on usage, the iPad Air 2022 boasts an all day battery life. However, if you are pushing the processor to the max, you can still expect 8 - 10 hours and there are a plethora of inbuilt tools to help the battery even last longer.

Colours & Options

The iPad Air 2022 is available in space grey, pink, blue, silver and starlight. Storage options are 64GB and 128GB.
